The exhibition of Chinese culture, timed to the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China, promises to become the largest cultural event of the Ryazan region.
The exhibition is organised by the World Calligraphy Museum, the Museum of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting, the Association of Private and Folk Museums of Russia. The exhibition is held with the official support of the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Culture “Ryazan Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve”, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Russian Federation, the Government of the Ryazan region, the Ministry of Culture of the Ryazan region, the Society of Russian-Chinese Friendship.
The exhibition will feature works by leading masters of Chinese calligraphy and painting, musical instruments, unique items of Chinese culture and art. A peculiar highlight of the exhibition in Orekhovo promises to be the exposition of the Chinese Penzin garden, prepared by Igor Islentyev, a Russian bonsai master, together with specialists of the Beijing Penzin Association of this unusual form of Chinese art. In total, over 500 different exhibits from all provinces of China will be on display at both venues. As part of the interactive programme of the exhibition, the guests of the event will be able to take part in the mystery of tea ceremony, try their hand at calligraphy and painting master classes. The business part of the exhibition includes lectures and round tables on China with the participation of leading Russian and Chinese experts, scientists and government officials.
The years 2024 and 2025 have been declared by the leaders of both countries as the Years of Cross-Culture, which will undoubtedly promote the interpenetration of the two cultures and expand the scale of cultural exchange. The 2024 exhibition will be included in a series of official events held to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia.
