On April 2 Alexey Shaburov, Director of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy, met with a renowned artist and calligrapher Liang Jiyong. At the meeting Alexey gave an overview of the new project scheduled for 20-22 of September this year – the Great Chinese Calligraphy and Painting exhibition, which celebrates the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relationships between Russia and China. Liang Jiyong expressed his interest and wished the event the best of luck.
Liang Jiyong – artist and calligrapher, Dr. habil. of palaeography in Sun Yat-Sen University (Guangzhou, Guangdong province, China), collector, literature source study researcher, reviewer, calligrapher and painter, member of Guangdong associations of writers, artists, calligraphers and musicians. Currently he occupies the positions of Executive Director of the research centre in the Chinese Southern Academy of Calligraphy and Art, Director of Tianfeng art association in Hong Kong, Director of guqin (plucked musical instrument that formerly had five strings but has seven these days) research centre in Linan, Guangdong province, and guest Professor in the Institute of Fine Arts affiliated with Guanxing Pedagogical University.
